![]() It's still early to confirm anything regarding the quality though, but the developers have my undivided attention now."Atomic Heart is an adventure first-person shooter, events of which unfolds in an alternate universe during the high noon of the Soviet Union. It was partially calmed by the teaser trailer from nine months ago and its "In-game footage" sticker. The trailer's quality also made my Cynic Senseā¢ tingle and the question of whether the final game will look and feel as good as this immediately popped up in my head. ![]() Indeed, both games incorporate the retro-style, creatures straight out of a mad scientist's lab and gore. The trailer's final seconds show an open world map, which hints at a Fallout-like ride. Anyone who has played any of the BioShock games will definitely see the resemblance straight away, and Blade Runner fans will take notice of the LAPD 2019 Blaster. Robotic creatures and the environment in the game are reminiscent of the 50s and 60s styles and even the official description on Steam states that the game is set in the time of "high noon of the Soviet Union", which fits well with the space race and science fiction of that era. The artistic approach to the second trailer is obvious but that didn't stop it from winning over non-atomic hearts. ![]() The second trailer opens up with a display of Atomic Heart's various robotic and organic creatures, has a cinematic camera and a song that perfectly matches the atmosphere. ![]() The first trailer focused more on gameplay showing the use of some weapons and featured a small "In-game footage" message, while the trailer that landed recently doesn't have the same disclaimer and focuses more on the artistic part of the game. Russian developers Mundfish have dropped a gameplay trailer before this one as well, although it didn't garner this much attention. ![]()
